I am looking to buy a new receiver and indoor home theater speakers. However, I have four outdoor 8 ohm speakers (2 40W, 2 55W) and want to make sure the receiver I choose will work with everything. Any specific constraints I should keep in mind (ie output power, load impedence, channels, etc)? Thanks!!!

There are many things to consider. First is your budget.

I looked for a receiver with two zone output (A + B) as I wanted to be able to listen to speakers outside without having to have it on inside. It's also nice to be able to listen to a different source in another room or outside.

Looking to spend about $500 or so, and the 2 zone
output would be ideal. Anything else? I'm worried that I'll get the wrong wattage receiver, etc and that the existing speakers will be overpowered or sound poorly.

Well, I went with the H/K 525 receiver, and the Polk 6700 speaker system. Hopefully it will work well with the existing speakers...
