on the Rotel site says that power consumption for the 1065 model is 550W.The question is:suppose I listen to music 5 hrs a day..would that really "hurt my pocket"(sorry for the question..I'm a newbie) thanks y'all
what do you mean by "hurt your pocket"? Do you mean your electric bill? Now 550W would be with all channels driven with program material going to them and you have the receiver at "rated" power -- meaning you have the volume pretty much turned all the way up with audio coming through all channels. If you're listening to music... you probably do so in stereo/2-channel (I listen to music in stereo mostly, unless I'm watching Eric Clapton Unplugged... most of my other music DVD are terrible in multi-channel format, so I just listen to them in Stereo!)
Still, even if you did that, it probably will average something less than 550W... maybe 300W. Now we're talking about just leaving a 300W halogen lamp on (at the higest setting) for the same period of time.
