Just wondering. Not concerned with up-conversion. If I have a VCR connected to my receiver via S-video and have an S-video out to my TV, does the power on the receiver have to be on for the signal to pass? I may just want to watch something through the TV.
I'm just trying to all my cables in order for my new system.
Rob: glad you figured it out. Some receivers will actually passthru the device connected to component input #1 to the output. in most cases, this is not true. The receiver must be turned on.
