Panasonic Receivers

I read in a Consumer Reports that a Panasonic Receiver $199.00- $259.00 beat out the HK's in overall quality and performance. Is there anyone who has some feedback on this.

Which model was it? One of the digital amplification XR-series or something else?

It was the SA series, and I am not sure if it was the SA- HE75S or the SA- HE100, however they are both alot cheaper in price than a HK.

That is great. More competition is good. However, I would be a little leary of Panasonic and their track record as far as audio equipment.

I will hold judgement until a "real" audio magazine tests it. Consumer Reports probably uses the same FTC tests as the manufacturers do. It would be interesting to see a low end Panasonic beat even an H/K AVR-130. Only time will tell.

Did they even compare the Digital Panasonic to the equivalent H/K DPR series? That's comparing apples to apples.

If I remember right the SA-models are still based on old high-end Technics designs, so probably they are somewhat good.
