Paired fronts?

Hello everyone,

I want to buy my speakers piece-meal. I have to, because I want to wait to buy my receiver. So, for now, I only want to buy the paired fronts. My friend has told me that the entire theater should produce all of the sounds in the 20hz to 20Khz range. He also told me that a good pair of fronts should produce the mid to high frequency sounds. So what is a good range for the fronts, 10Khz to 20Khz, 15Khz to 20Khz, etc.? Also, is there a model that you would suggest?

Thank you!

well i'm sure your going to use a sub.

so your speakers should go to say 45hz or so to
really give you a solid sound up front. and most
speakers are rated at 20k on the high side so you should
be fine there. "now that is just my oppinion" but
for me if your speakers can go down to about 45hz
then cross at about 60hz with the sub it makes a
pretty seamless transition.

and with the new surround modes all the speakers
are sent a full signal so the full range the speakers
are the better sound you should end up with.

does anyone have recommendations for a good pair of front speakers? nothing insane, just good build, very little distortion, and a good range.

thanks
