I recently purchased the Marantz 7300ose receiver and I now want to buy a dvd player.
I want it equally for playing both movies and music cds.
The salesman at the store that I bought the receiver from told me not to worry too much about the dvd player since the Marantz 7300ose has excellent DACS and that this is what will drive the sound from the DVD player. I apparently don't need to concern myself with the DACS in the dvd player.
He told me the main thing to consider is that it has a digital coaxial output as this is better that optical digital output.
He recommendend the Marantz DV4300 as this is in my price range and it would visually match the receiver nicely.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I think that marantz DV4300 would be a perfect match. I work at an electronics store in canada and we carry the marantz line. I think you would be very happy with the 4300. It has progressive scan, a decent remote, and would match your reciever very well.

Denon have a very good range of DVD players that get good reviews pretty much everywhere.
