Why does a home amp have a volume control when a car amp does not. I have a couple of basic ceiling mounted speakers that are connected to my tv through an amp. I want to be able to control the volume with my tv remote. The only way I have been able to do that is to have the amp volume turned all the way up all the time. I can't imagine that is good for the amp. I noticed PA amps do not have volume controls, is that a viable alternative? What am I missing?
