Hi all, just bought a Sony 60WE610. It will arrive in a few days. I have never had a great TV that required great sound before, but had a friend tell me it is all about the receiver.
What I would like to use it for is: Home Theater 50% DVDs, HDTV Video Games 30% XBOX Music 20% CDs and MP3s from PC
Cost hopefully around $600
Receivers I have been researching: Yamaha RX-V1400 Onkyo TX-NR801 Pioneer Elite 53TX Denon 3803
I am leaning toward the Yamaha and trying to find it's lowest price. I will slowly buy great speakers and a sub . . . but haven't gotten there yet.
Your choice of receiver should depend largely on what speakers you have or will be getting. Each of these receivers has their own sonic characteristics and are not interchangeable with the same speakers. I would look at speakers first, then a receiver to match. If you have some speaker brands in mind lets hear them and we can help you better.
