Sub placement debunked

I disagree with the statement regarding subwoofer placement "Its bass, you can't tell where its coming from!" I've messed around with subs quite a bit, and I feel the best results in both music and movies are when the Subs are located in the front of the room, next to, or even under the front L&R speakers.

Its true, the extremely low bass notes are difficult to localize, but the upper range of the LFE .1 channels can go as high as 200HZ (even higher if your fronts are set to small), which is very easy to localize.

I agree, you can tell where the sound is comming from ! I have my Velo 18's next to the fronts and my Vandy's to the left and right of the main seating position. Not to mention the rear Cizek subs. PS to all. Unless you are in a closet one sub does not cut it regarless of size from either a localization or poer standpoint for stereo or HT. Stan
