Yikes! indeed.

When too much isn't quite enough. The Boulder should come with a subscription to 'Tube Monthly'. Owners of that amp will NEED a tube checker.

The spacial expansion the the headphone amp? I saw the circuitry for one of those last nite on a DIY site I'm checking out, looking for a utility project. Simple circuit addition.

You'd need a forklift to put them in place too. Totally out of control.

Not to mention the extensive rewire needed.
And the fact that my house has ONLY a 100 amp service. And with these amps I'd need to run my AC 7 or 8 fulltime months a year, instead of the current 7 or 8 weeks.....and part time, at that.
I'm happy these days with the reduction (theoretical) of 50kwh per month which the purchase of a new refrigerator gained me. The old one, going on 20 years old, ran about 20hrs / day and was nearing the end.

My house is on a concrete slab, so no additional structural reinforcement would be necessary. However, Even my power mad Panels would have trouble coping or in anyway touching the 1.5kw on tap.

On a serious note, do any speakers exist, for home use, which could tap these out?

I think this, Leo, is excess just for the sake of excess. Just cause I guess someone can.

Carver did something similar a decade plus ago. 14 kt-88 outputs per side and a 4 chassis design....L/R pairs of PS and output. But 'only' about 350 a side. I don't think it was class 'a'.

Amp goes on.....lights in neighborhood dim. During loud passages, local brown-outs occur.

.

I see the title to this thread has changed overnight. There's only one person I know who could manage that. Now, I have to say, after some of the pure crap that has shown up on this forum in posts and stayed without comment from that person to have the title of this thread change is ... um, peculiar.

Power company: How can we help you today?

Customer: I need two 3 phase power outlets installed in my living room. They need to be on a dedicated seperate line from the rest of the power in the house.

Power co: Are you planning to operate large machinery in your living room?

Customer: No, I need them for my power amps.

Power co: (operator drops phone as she passes out)
