Interesting list. I especially like that the Apple discs are back in print. Also have some interest in the Hendrix and Dylan boxes.

This CTI box is my favorite of 2010.

Anyone heard the Hendrix collection? I wonder what the sound quality is like. The Black Sabbath box set looks cool too, although the big black crucifix probably won't fit on my CD rack.

LOL... I'm off all next week. There's gonna be a rib-fest one day next week at my house.

I've burned through 3 bags of Fast Eddy's since Nuck was up last. I may need to order a palette from you.

My favorite box set of the year; http://www.membran.net/en/Editions_Label/Box-Sets/John_Lee_Hooker_-_Blues_Is_The _Healer_2955.html

I found it new at HalfPrice Books; http://www.halfpricebooks.com/ for $5.98. For under $0.75 per dic, there are no fancy covers and no booklets, just Hooker music (no matter what name he was recording under at the time). These are not "audiophile" remasters, the first track is obviously taken from a scratchy 78RPM disc, but you can never have too much Hooker in your collection and you could have several "best of" Hooker CD's and still not cover his full output. For digitally remastered versions of Hooker with more content check this site; http://blindman.15.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=19509 That link also includes other box set titles.

For a good all'round blues set, I've never been disappointed by any of the Blind Pig anniversary sets; http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0oGdXuWexNNQeYAxsZXNyoA?ei=UTF-8&fr=slv8-hptb5&p=blind+pig+records+anniversary+collection&rs=0&fr2=rs-top Pick your flavor of blues and sit back for a few hours of great music.

Any chance one of you friendly Americans can score me that Hooker set for 6$?

Or maybe Mike should borrow it to save for safety's sake...

Like I said, I got my copy at HalfPrice Books which sells cutouts and overstocks. I can call around and see if any stores still have a copy available. Who wants one?

I've located three copies at three different stores. If you want them, I'll have to try to pick them up tomorrow or take my chances after Xmas.

David,

Not sure how much the new Sabbath box set costs, but it looks like the Black Box from a few years ago. I think that one was $90 or so. It has all the original Sabbath CDs, a DVD that kind of sucks, and a decent book.

The Black Box is by far the best sounding Sabbath stuff I've heard. Worth every penny of the price I paid. I wouldn't doubt it if it's the same thing re-packaged.

PM me about it

(sound of loose parts rolling around on the floor)

"SHEEEEEIIITTT!!!!"

"That didn't work out like I planned."

I sent emails a while back JV.
I sold the tt to a true vinyl lover a little while back, I could not justify the space in my little place.
Plus the arm rewire after the last faux pas induced me to give up my ham-fisted vinyl ambitions for something less costly.

The email address I have for you has been verified as being correct, Nuck. All I've ever received from you though are group mesages, nothing directly from you. I can't find anything from you anywhere in my system. I got your call from last night and I'll contact you this afternoon - if I have the right phone number. I never thought it would be this difficult to give something away.
