Using Two Amplifiers

This is my first post, and have recently got into home audio and am working on my set-up.

My current and modest apartment setup is a pair of Dahlquist PDQ-820 speakers being powered by a 2x15 wpc T-amp. I am looking at adding another amplifier and another pair of speakers to the setup, however am unsure of how to use two amps with the same source.

Also: As a small side note, can anyone recommend a decent set of bookshelf speakers for under 300? Thank you

Can I ask you why you want to add more speakers ?
If I were you, I would stick with just 2.
Your system should sound ok as it is.

If you want to upgrade, perhaps the source ?
What are you using as the source ?

If you want speaker recommendations, post it under speakers and you will get many good responses, like these ones :

There are preamps with 2 rca outs.
Another option is to get y splitter RCA in the source, and connect 2 sets of amps from there.

You can configure the T-Amp to run as a power amp (bypassing the volume pot). If you had two of these, you could run a splitter out of the pre-out of a receiver of pre-amp.

Is this to have a set of speakers in a separate room?

This is to hav ea set of speakers in the same room.
My source is my computer.
This is a bit off topic, but i'd also like to ask if my computer produces a very low quality signal through the 3.5 aux cable, even if im listening to lossless files (FLAC) or playing cds.
Would there be a large difference if i switched to a seperate CD player and preamp? and finally... My Dta-1 only has 3.5 aux input, is this much lower quality than the more conventional RCA cables, should i pick up a differant amp for music, and just use this as my every-day computer speaker amp ?

You can get good sounds from your computer by upgrading the soundcard to this usb DAC :

http://www.amazon.com/HRT-Music-Streamer-II-Resolution/dp/B0038O4UFQ

It has RCA out, so you can get decent cable for it.

This is single, so you need to order 2 for each amp :

This is for a pair of RCA:

http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/MCI2501M/MONSTER-CABLE/Interli nk-250-Audio-Interconnect-With-Precision-Machined-Rca-Connectors-1m/1.html

You might want to upgrade the USB cable too:

http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F3U133V-06-GLD-6-Foot-Hi-Speed-Cable/dp/B000621N26

I would keep using your computer as the source - it is convenient to have all of your music in one place, and you can also stream music from sights like Rhapsody, Playlist, etc.

If you still want more power, you can get another amp, but your present setup should make pretty enjoyable sound with the usb DAC upgrade.

Is it an issue that my only input on the amp is a 3.5mm aux cable?
