I just bought some Wharfendales speaker 2 Valdus 500, 2 Valdus 300 and the Valdus center channel and was thinking of buying the Pioneer VSX-D912K but I read a review on pricegrabber.com that Pioneer doesn't recommend using 4 ohm speakers. Does anyone know why because my Valdus 500's are 4 ohms speakers.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Er, because the receiver isn't rated to drive a 4 ohm load and it will eventually melt down if you try it?
There aren't many mid-priced receivers that can reliably drive 4 ohm speakers. The ones that I know of are the NAD 752 and the Outlaw 1050.

Thanks AdamT
Does anyone else know of a affordable receiver that can handle 4 ohm speakers?
