Lately I have been having a problem with my Harman Kardon AVR 120. After I shut the unit on, it shuts itself off after a couple of minutes, then I have to shut it back on. I have to shut it on about 10 times before it finally stays on. This happens every time I shut the unit on. I know this receiver is about 8-10 years old but could there be something else that is wrong with it? Thanks in advance for any help.

Heat buildup? Naw, it does it from cold, right?
Dust?

9 yrs is pretty good for that class gear, isn't it? How bad has it been beaten over the years?

Could it just need a little time to itself?

You might try re terminating ALL the speaker wires at both ends.
If they have been in service too long, the copper is oxidized and not making a good connection. If the wire is dark or even green, rip it all out and start over.

Someone around here may even recommend some 'DeOxit' on the receiver and speaker connectors, if you see evidence of bad connections.
