Hi Guys,

Well i finally received my Harman Kardon 3490 to match wtih my Wharfedale 9.4's.

Well i have the system currently just hooked up to the Optical out from TV and sound does come out also it reasonable high levels but i'm able to turn to +10DB which is max, 0DB no problem.

Any ideas?

Also tried the optical straight from PS3 but no sound at all. I tried the FM which wont play at all, the AM emits sound but also at low levels?

FM and AM will require antennas before they do well. The input for the PS3 probably needs to be switched on in the set up menu of the HK. Your other issue is not very clear to me. What exactly is happening?

Thanks for your reply.

I fixed the PS3 issue, the output needed amendmend in the setup menu on the PS3. The virtual surround in the HK3490 is amazing, sounds like you have speakers on all corners! Tested Lord of the rings yesterday and when the Black riders flew out of the screen the sound travelling past me and ended behind. pretty amazing for a 2-channel! Sound is perfect from PS to receiver. For now i have Analog from TV to Receiver to accept all signals coming through TV and sounds good! Will connect all components individually to receiver just need some additional cables!

I have the AM & Fm antenna hooked up and yesterday i figured that FM in MONO works but switching to stereo it remains silent! Tried the supplied regular FM antenna and also one hooked up the the ccable! nothing!

So just the FM stereo issue now and i do listen do quite a bit of radio so this i will have to try and fix. Googling didn't give me much other than internal settings etc for older receivers but this is bran new so hope i wont have to do this!

Any radio specialists out there? :-)

If it's brand new, there should be an owner's manual. Make certain you are making the correct connections with the antenna. Your retailer should offer after the sale service.
