Which soundcard to Connect to HiFi?

Hiya,

I wonder if you could help me?

I recently upgraded from an nforce2 mobo with the great soundstorm on-board to a ASUS K8V with the crappy Realtek sound.

I connect it directly to my hifi via a 3.5mm jack to phono/aux jack (the red and white ones), my hifi is a TECHNICS DV250 which I don't believe accepts digital input.

I listen to a lot of mp3's and play lots of games, plus watching divx films.

I'm looking for a new sound card, but since I don't have digital input on my stereo - what'd be best for me?

thanks!

I say give the new Creative X-Fi a try. I'm using the Audigy 2 ZS and let me tell you that no onboard sound will come close in terms of dynamics and clarity. Unfortunately CD playback using the soundcard is still nothing like my "hi-fi" cd player.

Reviews on the X-fi are encouraging so its only appropriate if test the soundcard.
