I have a Bose Acoustimass 25 series 2 active/powered sub with 13pin connector. I do NOT have the lifestyle system though. I'd like to connect the sub directly to my media center PC using the RCA connectors. However, my understanding is that I also need a 12v current/signal to trigger the sub into action & power the satellites. Is this current/signal normally provided via the 3.5 data jack? If so, can I build a switch to turn on the sub or is there a component I can install on my PC to channel the required 12v of power? Any advice would be gratefully received - even if it's just to say I'm wasting my time.
