Hello all, I have a question concerning the nad c272 and it's iec connector... On the 120v model the iec has only 2 prongs...no ground.... The lack of a ground prong confuses me, while not essential I would imagine it to be useful... I contacted yawa and talked to a guy there (not the usual one I talk to) and he stated that the lack of the third prong would reduce..interference or distortion, something along those lines.... I also remember someone commenting on audioasylum that the nad c372 has a 3 pronged iec...both integrated and power amp do but only on the 230v versions.... What say all of you about this??

a lot of newer units are coming without the third
prong.

others have a ground release tab of sorts.

and from first hand experience it can have a very
big difference on the amount of noise introduced
into your system.

the ground removed eliminates many noise issues!
and many manufacturers are doing it. so it is fine.
