KidEDexter | Anybody else looking for a compact / shallow depth A/V reciever to compliment their flat-panel TV and DVD/CD player? I've made an exhauting search of the top 15 A/V manufacturers' products and have identified only one with the features I need: Sony's bottom of the line STR-DE695/DE595 models @ 12-3/4" depth (which isn't as shallow as I'd like it). :[ I'm extremely weary of the sound quality of thiese models, and am wondering if people know of any others that I should consider. Features I Require - shallow depth (<12") - A/B speaker switching - minimum 5.1 surround capability - Dolby ProLogic II - min. of 50 to 80 watts per channel Addt'l Features I'd Like! - integrated DVD player |
Derek | I have a Sherwood RVD-6090R that's only 11 1/2 inches deep. It doesn't have DP II but it does have DP I. See http://www.sherwoodusa.com/home_audio/hprecmain_fs.htm. They make 5 models. If you wand a DVD system, you are going to need to buy an all-in-one system from Panasonic or Bose. |
KidEDexter | Thanks.. that was one manuf. I hadn't looked into yet. I wonder whether any of their upcoming models will have ProLogic II? |
