I'm looking to buy a new Surround sound system. I would like to listen to tv in surround (is this possible?) I have found a affordable system but it does not have a HDMI input so I can hook my cable box to it. I was wondering how it would sound if I used the coaxial input for my cable box? Will that give me Tv sound out of all speakers?

A quick edit.

A HTIB (Home Theater In Box) system with HDMI inputs will afford you the ability to run you video sources (cable box, dvd, blu ray, etc.) through the system receiver, and run a single HDMI cable to your TV, making for a clean set-up.

If your cable box has a coaxial (digital) out, then you will be able to listen to a surround broadcast, given you new system has a digital input.

Which system are you looking at & what's your budget?
