Hello, I'm building my own subwoofer for a basement I will be moving to. I don't have any idea on the right enclosure for home use. How do you get the right box for a sub? Here's my future sub:

Hi julien.

Please do not take this personally, but if you do not know what enclosure to use for that speaker, then maybe you do not have enough experience to build your own sub.

There's plenty of info out there.

I think Julien is up to the task.

DVC and 2 ohms each, at that? Boy, you need to talk to Andre about an Amp! And a power supply......hint hint.....to make it all happen.
Beware structural damage when cranked up.

.

Parts Express will help you with the correct enclosure volume and port size. You would probably be wise to order one of their prefabricated enclosures and not mess with building a box yourself. Call their tech services department.

Madisound also sells a line of plate amps.....
But, Jan, doesn't a pair of 2 ohm VCs raise an alarm?
You could always wire them in series!

Granted it looks like a killer, but how did you decide on this particular driver Julien?

Have you shopped some higher end subs already?

Nuck....I looked up this driver and it is pretty pricey....so much so that he could get a HSU VTF3. I think we have another Andre here, and he wants realistic jet plane takeoffs, right in his own living room.
Too much is never enough, I say.........

I might be tempted to go with pro amps for this job!
Maybe Crown amps on each coil...
