Stumbled upon this site and appears to be very informative and folks willing to offer good advice. I had the good fortune to have a lady give me a McIntosh 1900 reciever at a yard sale last year. The unit is in good shape but I get no response when cutting it on, no lights, nothing. I checked the fuse and it is ok. My question is is there something I could try to maybe fix this? I have very basic electronics skills. Also, I don't know if this is acceptable but what would a service on something like this cost?

.

Take the unit to a shop and ask for an estimate of repairs. There is nothing anyone with "basic" electronic skills can do here. You need test equipment, replacement parts and a knowledge of more than you would seem to be admitting to.

Read some of the other McIntosh threads to find some repair locations and an idea of the value of the unit. No one can tell you what this unit might cost to get up and running until it has been placed on a test bench.
