SPAM.

Nothing like ripping off a company. They look a little too much like Focal Utopia speakers to me.

A bunch of stuff looks like Sonus Faber too.

I didn't give them the pleasure of adding to their hit count.

I didn't think white van speakers utilized real wood veneers. I guess the times are a' changin'.

Not to stereotype every Chinese manufacturer, but the overwhelming majority of everything I've seen - audio, cars, electronics, and so on - has no value for intellectual property. Everything looks like a knock off of another company's products. Its a bit disturbing if you ask me.

Guys, I have worked on packaging machines that fill BIG rooms.
The last on that I did was a knock-off, even to the color. Of course the electrinics didn't work right, but it was largely mechanical.
The machine was installed in Minnesota.
It was a Japanese design.

Ya lost me Stu, unless your pictures got mixed-up, because those two cars look nothing alike.

Yeah, I'm thinking that my Mazda 3 hatch looks more like the Beemer than that Toyota.

In about 2 hours that Toyota will look like a blonde.

I'm not the only one who sees similarities between the X5 and the Chinese version. BMW is bringing suit.

Ahh now I see...not clear what you were doing with the first post. A couple of us thought you were comparing the Corolla look-a-like with the Beemer one...not so much.

I dont see the ripoff myself, cept'n the forward leaning sail between the B and C pillars.
The body crease, the drooped-eye headlight pods and the rear high corner treatment all remind me of 3 other cars.

But the point is well taken...too similar

I would assume the Chinese imitations are selling for a fair bit lower than the facsimiles?

I saw the TV coverage of the Detroit Auto Show. They did a segment on the Chinese cars. Every car they showed was a knock off of a popular car. Those two are the tip off the iceburg.

To quote Forest Gump -
That's all I have to say about that.
