If, by stereo, you mean 2-channel, then I know of none that will do both HDMI video (HDMI is a requirement for HD video) and digital audio. Any unit that accepts HDMI is going to be a full surround sound unit of which both amplifier and receiver models abound (a receiver is an amplifier with a built in tuner). All AV amps/receivers will manage both HDMI and digital audio (optical and/or coax). however, some will accept both HD video and audio through the HDMI connection and 'break out' the audio for internal processing, but some will not. Those that do will display the Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio logos on their front panels.
