Cross overs

Is there a pre-amp with a built in cross-over for a sub?

Any home theater pre amp (whether stand alone or built into a reciever) will have outputs for a subwoofer and most will have an electronic (active) crossover with either set or variable crossover frequencies. I am not familiar with ever component on the market but normally if you are purchasing a two channel pre amp the idea is to use an outboard crossover (either active or passive) between the pre amp and power amplifier. Try searching for more information in a good buyer's guide to components.

I have recently purchased the b&k pt3 series II
pre-amp.(with remote)

and let me say it is one very cool preamp.

it's a 2 channel preamp (very clean and neutrel)
that has a high pass out 80hz on up.
full range out.
sub out 80hz on down.

it has these outs for both channels so i am very
happy as i am utilizing them all and triamping.

very inexpensive preamp , you can pick them up
used or new.

there are only 2 things this unit might have that
someone would call a fault, is the volume contol
is in 2 db increments versus 1 and the bass boost
is way to much.(but for the price)

pesonally i don't use the bass boost and the 2db
volume control does not bother me.

it was the one for me as i wanted to have a remote! also

I also build speakers and find this unit very
useful you can even hook up an equalizer to this
unit and a pink noise generator/calibrator if you wish.
