Having a very simple set up. Technics SL-BD20D hooked up to a 2 speaker stereo. Its unfortunately just plugged in a head phone sized AUX plug.

The problem I am having is not a grounding problem I don't think.

What happens is SOMETIMES (but not always) there is a high pitched whine. It builds up starting at a lower pitch raising slightly higher lasts a second or two then lowers back down to a lower pitch and stops. There is a small break then it does it again. and again and again.

Any thoughts how I can stop this?

Thanks.

Your post isn't exactly clear on where the whine comes from. Assuming it's the table itself that is responsible and you can't find the spcific location of the noise you need to have a technician take a look. Intermittent problems are not the thing for someone to repair by themself. Spend a few bucks on an estimate and if you think the table's worth the money, get it repaired. Othwerwise, the Technics is not a table to put much money into. You can buy something better on the used market or something much better on the new side for not too much money.
