I have a Pioneer 811S with a PB-10 Subwoofer.
My question is: The Bass is not clean or tight, should I turn on the PLS level on the 811S? What's Midnight Mode???
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using a subwoofer cable or just an RCA cable? That may be your problem. I own the JBL PB-10 as well and mine has very tight bass response. Midnight mode is just dolby digital which limits the noise and clears dialog, it also increases bass response.
