I am planning on getting the Polk RM6700 with the 303 subwoofer for my living room. I have a nice 32'' tv and am looking forward to having surround sound and component video.

I need some advice on which receiver I need to get. I have been looking at a few Yamaha's, the RX-V750, RX-V1400 and the RX-V2400. Big price difference with those, but I'm VERY unsure of what to get.

Please help me oh wise ones of sound

I also don't know if I want 7.1 or 6.1 or THX or not, its a hard call on the options. I know I want at least 6.1 surround and I plan on using the fiber optic cables.

I've seen those Yamaha receivers I mentioned on eBay and their fairly cheap. But is that a good idea to get them and NOT have a warrenty on it?

Please help and lots of information will help me out greatly.

Marty, personally I wouldn't buy any HT gear without a warranty.

If you're set on Yamaha you might want to check the prices on the HTR series, I believe the HTR-5760/HTR-5790 are the same models as the VSX-1400/VSX-2400 but they're just sold through different (cheaper) channels.
