I have an older Yamaha receiver that is about 10-15 years old. I'm not sure.

My left speakers on both the "A" and "B" speakers go out randomly. I swapped speakers, replaced cords and wires but it never seems to go away. If I unplug the line in and then plug it in again the left side will work for an undetermined amount of time.

It's a Yamaha RX-300U with a turntable hooked up to it. I also connect my computer to it via USB to RCA to mini jack. I've played around with it and switched mini jack inputs but nothing fixes this problem. Is this an easy fix or am I going to have to buy a new receiver?

I hope my information was useful, }

Probably not too difficult to repair. But cost is another factor. If I had to spend any more than $100, I would seriously consider replacement. Doubtful you can get it repaired for that unless you have a friend who will cut you some slack.

Do you have an idea as to what the actual problem is? Is it common? Would there be a way for a novice to fix this? I'm guessing not. I suppose I'll be getting a new receiver at some point anyways.

Thanks for your advice.
