As JV has not done so yet, I would offer this PSA.
Spring Cleaning Time!
Yes, get out the phillips screwdriver, wrenches and cleaners, it is time to clean your gear.
A can of contact cleaner, a can of compressed air and an eye for detail are in order.
Tighten the binding posts. Clean the pots. clear the dust. Clean the connections on the back with anti-oxident and Tighten The Grounds!
Scuff up the fuse holders with emery and the fuses too! Pinch those fuse holders a bit for a good grip.

Add your cleaning/lube tips here, if you would.

I thought Spring Cleaning was in March?

I'd like to add bust out the bubble level and make sure everything's uh... level. Speakers, amps, CD players, turntables, and so on. Forget about the expensive Audiophile bubble levels. I got a small round one from Home Depot for about $3.

But the best one - Clean your ears. Get over-the-counter ear cleaning drops.

It snowed 3 weeks ago at home, Stu.
Spring is June 1 from now on!

The doc for cleaning my best listening devices.
Good advice, thanks.

And each whine had a different number of vowels.
I suggest shortening 3 whines to be of equal length of the least in length in your posts and level them to the floor of the domicile, with your chin on the floor.
Might even be some loose change under the Ottoman.(clean there too).

And if you're of a mind, try the fuses each way around. No, seriously!! In some revealing systems, the orientation of the fuse can make a difference. (I know - sounds crazy, just take me to the funny farm and tie me down...)

Frank, should I freeze them first?

A nice warm white sweater with reeeeealy long sleeves?

Why not? the fuses have to go back in anyhow, right?

Right?

Make sure the screws connecting the drivers to the speakers are tight!

Once a month (usually when I flip my mattress) I flip my amp over to the top mounted feet. This, as everyone knows, prevents a power loss due to the watts settling.

OK, let's make sure I got this right;

Bleach my red bricks pink
Buy hand stands for the top of my amps so I could flip them (only doing this if I can find amp handstands)
Screw everything that moves
I will not freeze or dress up my fuses
Once I have completed everything in this list, listen, then open everything back up again and somersault the fuses and listen again
Bubble level everything, might as well do interconnects along with power cords in addition to components, speakers, listening chair, and speaker cable. (oops don't forget to bubble level noggin, buy mirrors or else you can't pull this one off)
Open up the Pure Gold and go to town brushing everything that does metal to metal connectivity
Blow the compressed air into everything and anything
Take small caliber gun cleaner steel brush to fuse holders and fuse ends

To what I will add vacuum carpet and drapes / curtains, dust shelves and blinds, rinse out record cleaner trap, wash record cleaner rags, buy new can of pledge and an extra black Sharpie.
Second next to last, fluff seat cushion of listening chair and purchase your favorite bottle of scotch
Next to last, hand cash to family, tell them to enjoy a nice long dinner together on you.
Last, enjoy the priceless fruits of your labor.

On second thought, no pink houses, almost had me on that one.

Heh heh, I knew that would have some reaction. Glad it did, even if it is true! Seriously, it is worth cleaning the fuses and noting the direction...
