No sound from entire right side

I have had a Yamaha HTR-5830 surround sound set up for over a year now. It had been working perfectly, but now I am not getting any sound out of the front right speaker and the surround right speaker. I can test the speakers, and when I do the speakers are working, but when i'm watching a movie they don't work.
Does anyone have any ideas of what might be the cause and how to fix it?

how are you feeding the audio input into the Yamaha ? If your internal test of the speakers shows the speakers working, then you have to consider the source is bad. Two things here to test, the cable or cables, or the actual source (cable box, HDTV audio out, DVD player audio out, etc.)

Are you using the typical L/R (red-white) audio cables or Toslink optical or coax digital ??

If you are using the L/R (red-white) cables, just switch the red-white with each other and if now the "left" side is out, you have a bad cable.
If you are using optical or digital coax cable for audio input, it is doubtful the cable is the problem - it is probably the source device.
