What's the best amp to go with bose surround speakers

bose surround speakers are good.

If one wants only their speakers without the cost of the whole lifestyle system they package what amp options should they consider?

The sales man suggested yamaha - would that be true? Also there are so many different yamaha amps out there - how does one know which is best suited?

Sorry for not helping with your original question Sid, but as you can see, the advise is leading you back away from the Bose situation.

If you want the Bose, Yamaha will be fine. Just choose a receiver with the features you want. The sound quality will not matter from one receiver to another.
