Hi there, I just purchases a second had Bose Acoustimass 6 series II Home Theater System, but all I have is a Sony - STR-D865 surround sound reciever, however I don't think this is a suitable reciever. I am yet to have hooked things up and I am looking for some experienced advise. Thanks, Steve
Most on this forum stay away from bose, espically the Acoustimass.
I would imagine any reciever would be suitable for the acoustimass. If your asking if you should purchase a NAD/Rotel/Sunfire amp or something like that, my suggestion would be not to spend the $ on that kind of amp for the acoustimass as it would be wasted.
So all in all I don't see a problem hooking them up to the Sony, although i was unable to find any real information about that model
