Hi I just need an amp to push one of these subs. (not sure which is better for home audio but I'm guessing teh TC1000 would be).

TC is DVC4ohm and Assassin is SVC4ohm.

I need about 400 watts for cheap @4 @2 or @8 depending on the sub. I don't mind buying used either. I don't know much about home audio but I want a subwoofer for my TV and I have these 2 10" subs laying around collecting dust. Figure I will build a sealed downfiring box for them. I have not built boxes before so I want to K.I.S. and not spend a fortune. I don't even have other speakers yet, I just want a little Bass.

Behringer makes amps that will work very well.
Or a bash plate amp from partsexpress.com
I like the Behringer option, to add a componant to the rack, but that's just me.
Could be used as a stereo amp later on, too.
A bit coarse, but serviceable.

I don't have a rack to keep stuff I jsut have my home audio stff stacked on top o each other lol.

Is this the one your talking about?
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=300-752 Is it 2 ohm stable? The TC1000 is DVC 4 ohm? Would I be better off just buying a different sub or using the Assassin instead? I don't think the Assassin has nearly as much low end extension, but it does have excelent SQ...

Behringer FTW

If you run each channel 4-ohm with that it could be 1300-1500 on the sub.

This one?

$200 is a bit pricy but not too bad I guess I would have to find a way to mount it to the box probably build a little compartment for it. It's tempted to step up to the moster amp for another $150 though since I would be spending so much already...

500 watts @8ohm woudl do it
