They give a rundown as to the reasons they feel the typical "micro" speakers really are not all they are cracked up to be. http://www.htd.com/Middy-Compact-Speaker?sc=7&category=6 A subwoofer will be needed, but with the speakers priced at $75 each, a subwoofer will be easily affordable with your budget. HTD also has subwoofers listed on the website for sale. ----------------------------------------- This combination is more than your budget, but the sound quality will be outstanding. Orb Audio Model 1 stereo speakers and HSU Research STF-1 subwoofer. I have heard the Orb speakers, and the sound quality is fantastic, far better than something this small has a right to sound.
