You can use a receiver as a preamp...right?

I have an HK 330 receiver and i want to get a seperate 2channel amp for the front two speakers. is that possible? i think it has pre outs...what would i need? i was looking at a couple QSC amps...they used these amps when i worked at a local theater.

Yes, you can use the front two pre-outs on the receiver to send to an external amp. All you need are a couple of rca audio cables (red & white will work) and send those to the "audio in" or whatever it is on the amp. Then hook up the speakers to the amp and you're good to go.

awesome. now...would the berhing A500 sound alot better than the HK amps in the receiver?
