I'm trying to figure out how I can connect non-computer speakers to my computer.

Is there any way to take regular speakers (like the detachable ones from a minisystem)--ones with red and black wires--and hook them up to an 1/8th inch jack?

I appreciate your help.

.

Connect the wires from your mini-system speakers to a 1/8" plug. But, unless your sound card has enough output voltage to drive unamplified speakers, this isn't going to work well.

If the mini-system has inputs, you can use a Y-connector such as:

IMO, without amplification, the speakers are not going to produce much sound.
