I have the opportunity to buy a premium CD player at a deal price. But it's a 220V CD player. A step-up transformer will make it sing but I'm concerned if the sound quality could be lowered by using a transformer. Any experience in using a step-up transformer for 220v device?
It's a Cayin Spark CD player. My friend got it in China and might sell it to me at a reasonable price. In China, all electronics devices work under 220V and that's why it needs a step-up transformer to work here in the states. I'm just not sure whether a step-up transformer may mitigate the premium sound or not. I don't want a transformer to make a $1000 CD player sound like a $100 player.
