Hi all. I just purchased a Onkyo HT-S870 at a local Fry's electronics for 240 Bucks. What I deal I thought. Well, two of the boxes are cracked and need to be resealed. But the bigest problem is the fact that both of the subs surround is totaly blown out. I need to replace them with a similar equvilant. I removed them from the sub box and the say 60 watts and 6 Ohm. What is a 6 ohm speaker? Can I use a 8 ohm or a 4? There is a pair of these in the box and both are toast. I thought about refoaming, but no way. I rather just replace them. Can someone point some out that they would suggest?

Thank you all for your time. . . . . .

Mike if i were u then i would go with 6 ohms cuz once u start messing with ohms you can damage your stereo. replace them with some dayton subs.

Well, I just ordered a pair of new AR Research dual 4 Ohm subs. I am going to bridge each down to 8 ohms. We will have to see how this goes.
