Anyone have any thoughts on this combo? I'm a lifelong NAD guy new to the world of surround, and I'm looking to upgrade. Just wondering if anyone has anything good/bad to say about this combo? Thanks in advance for any help.

Robert:

My dealer died and her shop was recently closed, but before that happened, I used to go in just to listen to the T163/973 combo--it really is superb. This dealer had an Anthem pre/pro and amp setup for demos, but replaced it with the NADs about 15 months ago. I must say, the NADs sounded more open and with a larger soundstage than the Anthem system (which cost twice as much) which is no slouch. For the money, it is hard to see where you can go wrong, particularly since you like the NAD sound.

Thanks for the advice Hawk. The only negatives I've read are the lack of Dobly PLIIx, and problems with bass management while using it in stereo mode. The reviews I read were from early 2005 so I'm not sure if NAD has addressed this already. I mainly listen to music through my system, but want to be able to expand into surround. Right now I'm looking to purchase a new 7.1 combo, a center speaker, and a sub. Thanks again for the advice.

Robert,

Both of those issues have been addressed in the 'V2' units.

Enjoy!

Robert,

If you don't mind Refurbished, take a look at this link at Spearitsound.

Save a few bucks and get your NAD and "no" I don't work for them. LOL Dave
