I bet this one gets milked for what it's worth :-) I use the THX test tones (with SPL meter) to calibrate both my Denon 2900 for hi-res surround playback (analogue connections) and my Marantz SR-7300 for DVD surround playback (digital connection). I read somewhere that the Denon's test tones weren't that accurate and I calibrate for movies a little differently than for DVD-A and SACD. |
