Pioneer VSX-D811S is this worth the price....(289).?

I am new to HT...and my budget is limited...1200..max...I want a good receiver mostly for watching DVD's and my wife listens to her classic vinyls...
Also need advice on speakers...looked at Polk's at CC...and they sounded nice..
Any suggestions woould be appreciated...on receiver and speakers for the budget....(1200)

well if your wife wants to listen to vinyls then no it is not because the 811s lacks a phono input.try looking at Kenwood vr-6060 for phono inputs and more.
