last week I got to try out the panny xr-55.Oh man does it suck! It made my pioneer hpm-100's sound like a shitbox.My pioneer sx-450 kicks its butt.(note:My sx-450 sells for like 20 dollars).For ht its ok but for music HELL NO.It sounds brittle,bright and lifeless.The bass is weak also.My 15 watt pioneer sx-450 has better bass and highs.This amp is a big no no.
I'll get Stereophile online soon and look forward to reading it.

I don't usually read Stereophile.Its a brittle snob magazine with a whole section about cables what a no no. The Panny review by Robert Reina is a scorcher.
