Hello:

I'm kind of new at this, so please bear with me. I have a DVD player capable of playing SACD and DVD-A.
As far as output is concern for audio I have a "mixed" left and right that goes to the TV and 6 channel audio going to the receiver (not installed at the moment). My question is, once I connect the 6 chnl to the amp, what would happen at the time of playback of a regular cd or dvd. Would I see any difference through the 6 channels rather that just plain left and right?

Yes, for DVD-V and supposing you have a 5.1 speaker system. It works just as for SACD and DVD-A. The player decodes Dolby 5.1 or DTS movie sound and send it to your receiver.

I personally prefer digital interconnect for DVD-V, letting my receiver do this decoding. But this depends on equipment and likes.

Cheers
