I am looking replace my Boston Acoustics 9000, 5.1 speakers with little more powerful speakers. I already bought Onkyo 603 receiver to use the new speakers with.

Can anyone recommend 5.1 speaker system? I was leaning towards B&W, but they may be out of my range.

Thanks

Monitor Audio is a good one to lean too I heard there speaker from my friend that own Harm Sound Lab and for a 5.1 set up in Bronze lien could be about $2,200 might be more than you would spend but really good speakers..

For something a little different, but awesome in terms of performance, have a look at M&K's K-Series.

Now is this $1K for 5 speakers, or 5 speakers *and* a sub? If it doesn't include the sub here's an awesome combo:

CMT-340center, CBM-170 L/R, CBM-170 surrounds
and Hsu STF-2 subwoofer, $1321 shipped from
ascendacoustics.com

or you can look at this which just recently came out for $900, we know for sure the sub is excellent:
