Hi there

I own a Musical Fidelity A3.2 Integrated amp
my amplifier is making a humming sound that is coming out of the mono
blocks no the speakers.
I can hear it when it's very quiet or when I'm close to the amp during the day.
I can hear it between tracks especially during night time listening. Very anoying
I'm not sure if this is normal
I have a lot cheaper Yamaha AX590 integrated amp that does not do this

Anybody has the same experience ?

If the sound is a physical noise coming from the amplifiers and not through the speakers, the problem is probably related to the power transformers. Manufacturers will allow a certain amount of noise before the problem is deemed out of spec. Give MF a call and talk to them. They are the only people who can decide if the problem falls within their specifications.

No hum but blown....
Purchased 3.2 in 11/02--2 months later, no sound from one side-acrid smell, dealer replaced; 10/04-no sound, acrid smell, dealer says it's cables or speakers-cables replaced, dealer charges $90.00 for exam of speaker-nothing-says they haven't had problem like this before and can't help if it happens again; blows again 12/05-acrid smell, no sound. Have others had this and will MF help if dealer is refusing? Thanks.
