There already is a "Home Theater" portion of the forum. Speakers are covered in that area as are electronics.

Discussions about all types of Home Audio Loudspeakers. Related Categories:Home Theater Speaker Systems, Home Theater in a Box, or Subwoofers

That's what this thread says. I believe it's fair to say that HT dominates not only the market place, but also this forum.

I know there are PURE MUSIC enthusiast amoungst us who KNOW there is a distinct difference between the two.

I think it would benefit all of us novices if the two catagories were regognised as being different.

I'm sorry, I did not realize that there is a speaker section under home theater.

Forget this happened.

Got an old pair RS9-Kappa Infinity tower speakers. But they all have problem and need refoaming the four big speakers. Any suggestion that I should do it or not.
I live in LA, CA. Any suggestion where to fix it if I should, thank you.

4 new speakers will run $1000-1200. If refoam can product 85% of the original quantity, it only costs me around $260. Berny! Will you give a try?

yes Keith, there is a wonderful refoaming specialist by the name of John Fensterfucher, works at Audio Armadillo down on West Hollywood Blvd near I-5. I'm sure they're in the yellow pages, look them up.

He did a wonderful job on my mother in law's Mark Levinsons, I think it cost her just over $50 apiece which is less than she paid for her audiophile power outlet.

Oh did I tell you that my mother in law is a total audio babe? In fact she's almost as hot as my wife.

Hi Edster922, Thank you for the great info.
I got info from Sound Factor the Speaker City in Burbank can do a super job. Called and told to be $65 per piece.
I have no experienced on refoam. Any idea the quantity will be 85-90% to the original sound.

No, not even that much. More like 40-50%. I would suggest new speakers. With Internet-direct speaker companies these days you can get very good quality for surprisingly little money. Ask around on another thread and you'll get plenty of suggestions.

O! It's a tough call. Noe I may go with a brank new set B&W 600 bookshelf vs $1100 to replace 4 speakers.
Tks.
