NAD HTR 2 Macros and Device Selector Keys

I have set up some macros with my NAD HTR 2 remote control to get the system ready to listen to music, play a DVD movie, etc. For example, the DVD movie macro will turn on the TV, turn on the DVD player, turn on the NAD receiver, and set the input for the receiver to be the DVD player.

The issue I've run into is that I also want the macro to set what device the HTR 2 will be controlling after the macro has run. In this case, I want it to be controlling the DVD player so I can just press play. However, recording a press of only a device selector key (or that key twice, or other variations) does not work. The HTR 2 will still be in whatever mode it was previously left in, controlling the previously active device.

I believe this is by design, from one line in the HTR 2 manual:

"NOTE: Macros are independent of the currently selected device."

However, it seems like it would be very useful to be able to do this. With so many NAD users here, has anyone figured out how this can be done?
