Is it a bad move mixing speakers in a system. i already ordered two athena AS-B1's and an Athena center but am having a terrible time finding cheap AS-F1's. Should i just get them anyway or would it be fine getting floor speakers from Yamaha or another brand? thanks

The front array should be matched as well as possible. Some people sacrifice the surrounds, using whatever is lying around. I did that and was amazed when I went to fully matched surrounds. Movie soundtracks then become much more seemless and realistic. I didn't really think it would change much, but it did!

ya i think ill just spend the money on the Athenas. i want to wait for a sale, but there are limited quantities and ide hate to miss out totally on them. what do you think about not getting towers and just adding another two AS-B1s for my fronts, would i sacrifice quite a bit of sound?

That would be up to someone who has heard them to say. I haven't so I won't speculate.
