I just purchased the Onkyo SR602 receiver. My CD's sound like crap with this receiver. Is there maybe a seting I've forgotten to change? I have the CD player hooked up with optical digital, with 5 suround sound speakers. It seems the CD will only play through the front and center speakers, not the rear, even when I set the Onkyo to all channel stereo. Any suggestions?
Did you set your surround speakers properly? Some receivers have the option to turn them off/on.
The CD's will sound much better when played in stereo mode because that is how they are recorded (Two channel). SACD's and DVD-A's are meant to be played on a 5.1 surround system.
Also, in my case, CD's sound better when using the analog outputs.
